Inaugural Team Competition of Gushtingiri in the Republic of Tajikistan
Based on the strategic plan of the International Gushtingiri Federation and in the implementation of policies to expand the sport across various sectors—including elite and professional sports—the International Gushtingiri Federation and the Tajikistan Gushtingiri Federation designed team competitions for this discipline. The first edition of these competitions was held among official clubs of the Republic of Tajikistan on October 5, 2025, with the participation of 98 athletes from 14 sports clubs nationwide. The event took place at the elegant Tennis Palace complex and the central stadium in Dushanbe, with wide public attendance and the participation of government officials, and was organized to commemorate the State Language Day of the Republic of Tajikistan.
Prizes and media coverage: Team prizes worth USD 20,000 were awarded by Tajikistan Gushtingiri Federation sponsors, along with medals and trophies.
Media broadcast: The competition was simultaneously aired by Tajikistan Sports Channel for about 7 hours on television, with live streaming available on the channel’s YouTube platform for enthusiasts of the sport.
Format and results: After four rounds of knockout matches and 14 thrilling bouts, the champions of this edition of Tajikistan Club Gushtingiri League were determined. According to the International Gushtingiri Federation’s operational calendar, the World Club Championships are scheduled for December 2026.
