First Executive Committee Meeting for the 2nd IGGF World Senior Gushtingiri Championships Held in Dushanbe The first meeting of the Executive Organizing Committee for the 2nd IGGF World Senior Gushtingiri Championships was held on 11 June in Dushanbe, Republic of Tajikistan, bringing together officials of the International Gushtingiri Federation (IGGF) and senior representatives of the host country. The meeting marked the official launch of preparations for the largest international Gushtingiri event of the year. The 2nd IGGF World Senior Gushtingiri Championships will take place in Dushanbe from 13 to 17 August 2026. The meeting was attended by the President of the International Gushtingiri Federation, the Secretary General, the Technical Director, as well as representatives of the host country, including the Deputy Minister of Sports of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee of Tajikistan, and representatives of the Executive Authority of the City of Dushanbe. Participants reviewed the overall organizational framework of the Championships, including technical operations, competition management, accommodation, transportation, ceremonies, media, security, medical services, logistics, and other key areas. They emphasized the importance of delivering a world-class championship in accordance with international standards. The Championships will be held as part of the celebrations marking the 35th Anniversary of the State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan, giving the event special national and international significance. Participants highlighted that the Championships will also serve as an important opportunity to showcase Tajikistan's rich cultural heritage, hospitality, and sporting potential to the world. At the conclusion of the meeting, the Chairpersons of the Organizing Committees were officially appointed, and the implementation timetable for each committee was approved, officially launching the preparation process. The International Gushtingiri Federation expressed its confidence that, through close cooperation with the Government of Tajikistan and all partner organizations, the 2nd World Senior Gushtingiri Championships will become one of the most successful and memorable events in the history of the sport, welcoming athletes, coaches, referees, and officials from across the globe.
